Main initiator and founder of the Association Ljubisa Jovanovic

The clarinet professor Ljubisa Jovanovic was born in 1965. in Belgrade. He graduated from secondary music school in the class of Professor Milenko Stefanovic and finished his studies of clarinet at Faculty of Music in Belgrade in the class of the Professor Ante Grgin.

He won many awards at the republic and state competitions. He recorded 3 cd-s with the music renaissance, antique and baroque with his performing groups “ Muzika Antika “ and “Ars  Nova” and played on more than 150 various concerts which many of them where humanitarian. They played among the others in the Russian home in Belgrade, the synagogue in Novi Sad, vila Jelena, the Kolarac hall, the Madlenianum hall etc.

In his 21 years teaching experience in music schools “Vatroslav Lisinski”, “Vojislav Vuckovic” and “Davorin Jenko” in Belgrade as a clarinet professor he was a member of organizing committees at the republic, state competitions and festivals. His students won about 158 republic, state and international awards: Italy, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Russia and Greece.. He was the initiator of 40 humanitarian concerts with his students and with the orchestra. He has done many things for advancement of chamber music.

Since 1997, because of his great organizing ability, more than once, he was the president of organizing committee at the republic competition. He also took part in creation educational TV music shows.

Professor Jovanovic was also member of the jury in several competitions: international wind competition “Davorin Jenko”, republic competition in Serbia and FYROM, and different festivals.
Many of his former students continued their studies on some of the most prestigious Music Academies in Canada, USA, Norway, Italy etc. For the last years numerous of his students were accepted at Academy of Music in Belgrade.

He organized 26 Master – class for more than 600 students from Serbia, Montenegro, Romania and Bulgaria. During the last two years he held master classes with professor Ante Grgin which was supported by Ministry of culture of Serbia.

He took part in massive projects on state level with orchestra such as Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana” and Mozart’s “Requiem”.
He is founder of International association of music lovers which gathers a large number of teachers of excellent reputation, outstanding composers, music critics and performers; Youth symphonic orchestra whose members are most talented students of Serbia; Clarinet quartet “Nevsky”.

Up to now he has successfully attended master classes with professors Jan Jakub Bokun (Poland), Paul Meyer (France), Mate Bekavac (Slovenia).

Professor Jovanovic is currently working in music school “Vatroslav Lisinski”, as full time professor.
